• New Music Note

  • Every month, I spend at minimum 30 hours searching for new music. It feels like learning new things, getting inspired by new ideas and emotions, I enjoy it very much! First I skim through the new albums to select the ones I find interesting, then I listen again in my listening studio to hear what they really have to say, and finally I share the best ones with friends and family on the big sound system in the living room.

  • Quality, relevant content can't be spotted by an algorithm. You can't subscribe to it. You need people - actual human beings - to create or curate it.

― Kristina Halvorson, Content Strategy for the Web

  • My Music selection criteria are of course very subjective, but there is a common backbone to it: it is worth listening to on a high fidelity sound system. I particularly search for records with high Dynamic Range (DR), as they are in general more alive than the heavily compressed recent digital productions. Hence for records I deem worth it, I will search for the best available source before sharing it with others.

  • In the monthly New Music Note (NMN), I will share with you the best new music I have found. The NMN may also contain a download link (wetransfer) valid for one week upon sending, who knows!

I hope this will bring you value, as it does for me.
